What kind of support can I expect?
eBallot Essential allows you to run an unlimited number of secure, digital ballots among your group for an extremely competitive monthly price.
Here’s what you’ll get access to upon sign up:
- Our Getting Started Guide that shows you each and every step to running successful votes and elections
- A robust knowledge base with answers to all common questions
- Our US-based support team, who will respond by email within 24 hours
In order to maintain this price point, we are unable to offer instant, on-demand support. However, we’ve found this balance of cost vs. support level works very well for most people.
Still, we realize you may want or need more hands-on support. If so, we encourage you to reach out before subscribing and we’ll be able to make some recommendations that we think will work best for you.

How do you prevent people from voting multiple times?
This gets to the heart of why eBallot was created. Most survey and polling tools can't protect against logins from different IP addresses or from private browser windows.
We prevent people from double voting by assigning a unique ID and one time use access code to each of your voters, prior to running your ballots.
A perk of this is that it allows you to see exactly who has and hasn't voted at any given time, as well as how they voted (if you enable that information). -
How many ballots can I run per month?
There is no limit; our Pro and Premium plans both allow you to run an unlimited amount of ballots.
You can run them at separate times or simultaneously.

We only have one vote per year. Can I pay per vote?
eBallot Essential works best for groups that run at least a few votes every year among the same people.
The number of ballots you can create are truly unlimited, so the more you run, the better a deal the software becomes. So, once you get your account set up, you might as well try using it for more ballots than you had initially intended.
Do you regularly engage in these voting-related events?
- Electing leadership
- Voting to accept new members
- Making updates to your rules or bylaws
- Approving budgets
- Creating mission statements
- Collecting feedback
If so, we guarantee you’ll get your money’s worth from eBallot Essential and then some.
If you really can’t see your group voting on more than one thing, eBallot Essential probably isn't the right fit. Contact us and we’ll give you the best options for your one-off vote.

Explain the billing details of my subscription
Your subscription pays for hosting of your voting data, access to our US-based customer support team, and the creation of unlimited ballots.
Pro accounts have a minimum subscription term of six (6) months and automatically renews on a month-to-month basis after that.
Premium accounts have a minimum subscription term of twelve (12) months and also automatically renews on a month-to-month basis after that.
Your credit card will be billed on a monthly basis for as long as you hold the subscription.
You may cancel at any time after your subscription term has lapsed by emailing us at help@eballot.com.

What additional fees are there?
There are two reasons why you would pay more than your monthly subscription cost, but neither are required to run successful votes and elections.
- If you add more voters to your account after sign up
You may want to add voters to your account, beyond the number you initially signed up for (e.g. if you have new members added to your group).
The cost is the same whether you added them upon sign up or from within the platform.
- If you choose to send more than one email campaign per ballot
eBallot Essential allows you to run an unlimited number of ballots among your group for a low monthly price. With each ballot you run, you’ll want to create at least one email campaign that encourages all voters to participate.
The first set of emails you send is free. You may, however, choose to send one or two more follow-up emails to your group.
Each additional email campaign you send will cost $0.02 multiplied by the number of voters on your account.
Example email campaign costs:
- An account with 50 voters * .02 = $1.00 per follow up
- An account with 250 voters * .02 = $5.00 per follow up
- An account with 1000 voters * .02 = $20.00 per follow up
- If you add more voters to your account after sign up

Will my voters need to download an app?
Nope! eBallot is a web-based platform.
You can build ballots and voters will access them from any modern web browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox) on their smartphone, computer, or tablet.

Certain people need their vote to be more influential than others. Is that possible?
This type of voting structure is called Weighted Voting and is built into our Premium plan.

What languages does eBallot Essential support?
Text fields (e.g. questions, choices, etc.) throughout the platform are able to fully support English, Spanish, and French.
Many other similar languages are also supported, except those with significant grammatical and/or special character differences.
The eBallot Essential software interface (e.g. menus, buttons, etc.) is not translatable outside of English.
